About Letchworth Sinfonia

From small seeds, great things grow!

Proud to be associated with the Garden City, Letchworth Sinfonia welcomes players old and new, bringing amateur musicians together to enjoy music making and performing for local audiences, something it has done since 1981.

When we say we are friendly, we mean it!  We do not make players audition, and led by expert coaches we bring out the very best in each player, whether they are experienced players, adult returners or relatively new learners of any adult age.  Our popular concerts showcase classic works, sometimes alongside lesser known gems or specially commissioned local pieces.

Each year we also invite instrumentalists from far and wide to 'Come and Play' for a day, working on a large scale piece, fuelled by cake!  A great way to explore repertoire, make new friends, and to 'try us out'.

We rehearse fortnightly on Sundays - during the afternoon in the winter months, and the evening during the lighter summer months.  Away from our fortnightly rehearsals, some members get together to play in smaller groups for fun, and for special events such as weddings or busking days.

Letchworth Sinfonia considers itself an important part of the cultural life of the town and welcomes the interest of music-lovers in the area, as supporters of our concerts and potentially as players

Whether you are a player, or would like to come to a concert, make sure you don't miss out by signing up to receive early details, discounts, or news of playing opportunities.
